DaimlerChrysler Plans Two Hybrid Cars, Automobilwoche Reports

March 10 (Bloomberg) -- DaimlerChrysler AG plans to introduce two hybrid Mercedes-Benz models, Automobilwoche reported, citing the company's head of research and development Thomas Weber.

Instead of developing just one hybrid-powered car, which uses a combination of gasoline and electricity, as previously announced, the company will bring a so-called mild hybrid model and a full hybrid model to market at about the same time, the magazine said on its Web site.

Weber did not specify which car would be produced first or which supplier would be for the hybrid engines.

A combination of the company's Bluetec diesel technology with hybrid is ``worth considering,'' Weber is cited as saying by the magazine.
