Representatives from Greenland Minerals have recently visited Narsaq and Nuuk to "take the temperature" of partners and stakeholders. They remain confident about their project at Kuannersuit, despite the banning of uranium exploration, exploration and exploitation in this country last year. GML Commercial Manager Garry Frere says "We must at least get back the money we have invested, but in addition, we will calculate how much we will miss out on in estimated earnings if we are not allowed to continue with the project. That requirement will be added to the 130 million Australian dollars we have already spent on the project. We will continue to inform about the project, but for the time being, the arbitration case is ongoing, and it could easily last several years". Therefore, the company believes that the best thing they can do is to continue working on the last things that need to be done according to the process of obtaining an extraction permit and in relation to informing the population about the project and gaining support among the locals in Narsaq on their side of the story.- "One of the problems that has been underway from our point of view is that the scientific studies have been made correctly and show that there are no major risks to the project. But the many pieces of information from the reports have not been communicated well enough to the public and that is of course our responsibility."
