It is not in the best interest for shareholders of a company to do a share consolidation as it generally weakens an individual's position. Shareholders remain proportionally unchanged asfaras before and after but its the company's position that may be effected if the company was to lose ground in its SP.

Suddenly your 10 for 1 consolidation is on rocky ground and your financial position becomes unbalanced. Share consolidation is not for every company.
