By 0800 on Saturday 26 November 2022, Pacific National-operated coal and 'bulk' (i.e. grain and other) trains had resumed operating in NSW, thank goodness.
For instance grain train number 3331 with locomotives 8169 and 8113 was heading north from Cootamundra West towards the junction station of nicely named Stockinbingal, a true 'Australian name'.
The origins of this 'safety' dispute were not widely reported so one doubts that the end to the industrial action will be either. Hopefully GNC can have its grain train sets quickly all running up and down NSW rail lines to feed the voracious unloaders at Carrington and Port Kembla, plus meet the needs of domestic grain customers, the latter also a substantial market for our favourite grain handler.
