Condobolin on the Broken Hill rail line had 14.6mm while Trangie out of Dubbo did better with 19.6mm.
Up in northwest NSW, Moree has had 7mm, not huge but nothing to be sneezed at but further south, Narrabri saw 13.4mm. Gunnedah, further south again is interesting because the BOM's two sites recorded either 13.6mm or 25.4mm. I've not looked at a map to see how far they are from each other, but it's a salutary reminder that rain is localised: one grower may see his paddocks verging on flooded, while another up the road may receive only a sprinkle.
Forbes (6.2mm) and Parkes (9.4mm) are 20 minutes' drive from each other, but note almost 50 per cent variability.
Temora is a major graingrowing area in the NSW Riverina (and an interesting town): it's had a pleasing 13.6mm.West Wyalong is not all that far from Temora: 6.2mm.
Instos. and hedge funds are indeed "very clever": That's why their staff are on salaries (and, perhaps not so much at present, bonuses) that are incomprehensible to me.
Overall, pretty good news as I certainly wasn't thinking northwest NSW would get that amount of rain. Walgett, however that city boys like me regard as a 'marginal' area for cropping seems to have not received any rain, at least where the BOM site is.
