At this stage I'm merely continuing to note the excellent rains in much of western and central NSW, much if not all of the NSW Riverina and a large swathe of Victoria. From brief observations, Gunnedah, Narrabri and Moree in northwest NSWseem to be missing out, though Walgett in the backblocks has had 10 millimetres today.

Condobolin for instance has already had 93mm in the first 16 days of January 2024 plus a further 26mm so far today. This will exceed January 2023's total and is unarguably an excellent total.

The major rural city of Dubbo is up to about 98mm for January 2024. In January 2023 the total was 50.6mm.

Further south, Parkes Airport has now had almost 150mm for what will be 17 days instead of January 2023's 39.8mm.

Horsham in Victoria received less than one millimetre in January 2023 but is already above 55mm. Mind you, its winter 2023 harvest was very good to excellent so perhaps placing store on a half month's rainfall omits the complete picture.

Nonetheless, as an urban dweller who doesn't farm, it seems good news, but I wouldn't dare to predict how the winter 2024 harvest will end up.

@Portsmouth, is there a possibility at A$7.41 that GNC may turn out to be five to even 10 per cent undervalued by grumpy 'Mr Market'? We need your expert input.
