    The imposition of significant tariffs will depress world trade, but by how much is the unknown factor.

    While many of the Presidential orders Donald Trump has signed are good, imposing tariffs is retrograde.

    By and large, GNC's grain exports are staples: as the CEO said a few months ago "people have to eat".

    Some grains can be substituted for others, as seen in stockfeed.

    Australian grain exporters compete with a wide range of other nations, including the USA. However we have a natural advantage in exporting to southeast Asia, a major market.

    Mexico has been slapped with tariffs by the USA. Mexico imports malting barley from Australia. Will Mexico sell less beer because of tariffs?
