This is one crackpot in Numurkah who's causing GNC a lot of unnecessary expense:
(from the woke, leftie 'Saturday Age' today):"Kevin Green’s nose stings before he’s opened his eyes.
It’s a yeasty, grainy smell with a sharp chemical undertone, like a cocktail of hops at a brewery on a warm day, rotting fruit and bleach. And during the night, it crawled up his nostrils again.
“I wake up and the first thing that happens to me is I’m tingling. I’m jittering, my nervous system is on edge,” Mr Green says over the glass outdoor table of his one-storey weatherboard home. It’s Thursday afternoon and he’s in his high-vis workwear, two buttons undone, the skin around his handlebar moustache tanned and leathered.
“I’ll start feeling nauseous. My stomach swells up. Then it’s the headache, in my temples then all over my skull. And then I’m stuffed, mate. I feel angry, upset that it’s happened again. But I’m just wrecked.”

In recent years, the 59-year-old has taken to documenting those bad nights. As most of the town of Numurkah sleeps, Mr Green pulls out his Android phone and films.
“It’s 2am, Thursday morning, the 13th of January,” he says in one video, taken in the bedroom he shares with his wife, Samantha, just north of Shepparton in regional Victoria.
“We’ve been putting up with easterly winds since Monday. It’s finally inundated our home. It’s disgusting,” Mr Green says, before a half-awake Samantha appears in the frame.
“I feel sick,” she says, “waking up to that. It’s all through the house.”
About 120 metres to the east, across the road and a patch of grassland, stand the metallic silos and heavy machinery of the GrainCorp Oilseeds refinery.
It’s one of the country’s largest oilseed processors, heating then crushing primarily canola seed using chemicals and solvents. The result is components for cooking oil, spreads, animal feed, fuels and more.
The human result is a town divided: some Numurkah locals tell stories of friends and family refusing to ever visit them because of the refinery’s odours and noise. Others never notice the stench..."
