The junior explorer Great Gold Mines was the highest traded stock, with 216 million shares changing hands, collectively worth $13.7 million.

Great Gold Mines closed 1.9c higher at 5.1c after rehashing a four-kilometres strike length of 61.8 per cent iron and mentioning neighbouring Jupiter Mines' announcement of a 60.6 per cent iron resource next door to Great Gold's Mount Bevan project 100 kilometres from Leonora in Western Australia. Jupiter itself was down 1c to 24.5c.
