Hey PJ2,
This is a bone of contention amongst investors. Sure you can buy the shares on market, but none of that money goes to the Company for the development activities it wants to undertake, so when you buy through the SPP or Entitlement offer - that money goes directly to the company so it doesnt have to search for extra debt.
