@logco; investing in core public infrastructure essential for both business and individuals is not '
throwing billions of taxpayers' money away'. An example of that is how Morrison's government allowed unscrupulous businesses to milk $34 Billion they should never have received from 'JobKeeper' during the Covid Pandemic and which the Coalition refused to claw back ... nothing at all to show for it!
Following the dark Kennett years during which many public schools were shut down and their communities kneed in the groin, power assets flogged off in fire sales to overseas interests and rail services closed throughout the state it's taken decades to transform scorched earth into Australia's most dynamic economic powerhouse with its largest and most diverse capital city on track to grow to eight million people by 2050.
As a result of the removal of hundreds of level crossings, extending regional freeways, extending regional fast rail, constructing the new Metro, building the freeway links that should have been built fifty years ago etc etc and despite the ban the Coalition placed on funding them since September 2013 Daniel Andrews' governments have rocked and rolled.
And Victorians have gone along for the ride, cooperating with the disruptions and frustrations because they know it has to be done!
