sure that could be a reason but if they had something really good debt collector would take a slice. thats how many of them get their money and their cream.
with 35% to play with they could have given some to debt collector and believe me if was worth what everyone dreams its worth the debt collector / bank would say thank very much. because as you say a going concern is better than a liquidated entity to the creditor especially if is has a few elephants
