Hello John
Thank you for choosing GoFundMe. We're reaching out today about donations you made to your own GoFundMe fundraiser. While we always aim to support donor generosity in every way we can, GoFundMe’s ability to support these types of self donation is limited because of payment processing rules.
You’re also charging yourself related fees to receive your own funds, and therefore you’re not receiving the maximum donation amount for your cause.
Unfortunately, because you have previously made a donation to your fundraiser, we cannot support the specific donation in question nor will any future donations made by you to this fundraiser and we’ve proactively refunded your most recent $1,000.00 donation. You’ll receive 100% of the impacted donation plus your tip amount back within 3-7 business days.
We encourage you to follow these steps to add future donations to your fundraiser's progress as an offline donation
Sign in to your GoFundMe account
Select the "Donors" tab on your dashboard
Select the three dots next to the search box
Select "Add offline donation" in the dropdown menu
Enter the donation information and select "Add donation”
Offline donations are a great way to support your cause and help you keep the full donation amount, as these donations do not incur fees because they're not processed by us.
We appreciate your understanding, as well as your donation generosity. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
