'TedO'Brien on a winner': Former Qld premier says nuclear energy's 'time has come'(msn.com)
Acontest of ideas on energy sources inAustralia is “really exciting” as “nuclear’s time has come,” says formerQueensland premier Campbell Newman.
“Across the political divide ... there are plenty of sensible people whoget that we won’t reduce carbon emissions by windmills and solar panels – itjust won’t happen, it is too expensive.” Mr Newman told Sky
News Australia host Steve Price.
“The idea of putting in small modular reactors in key locations acrossthe national grid where there were previously coal-fired power stations makes alot of sense.
“I think Ted O’Brien is on a winner.
“You’ve got card-carrying members of the Labor Party who believe this isthe right thing to do – it is only people like Bowen the Prime Minister andSonic Blast that are so dug in in an ideological sense that they won’t actuallydo what’s right.”
