I see you are equating the 'greenie camp' with scientists. My post stated the following:
"I doubt that you can provide the answers to the above questions as 99% of the people in the greenie camp have no idea of physics, higher math, and the other necessary knowledge that would show what happens in the real world."
I stand by my post and statement and your lack of numbers and answers proves it.
You stated:
"I think you'll find most scientists of any intelligence and expertise recognise the threat to the planet and would be appalled by your ill-informed accusations about Greenies. What a cliche!"
If you look at the numbers you'll find that those with advanced degrees in the sciences do not support the man-made climate change theory. And yes, I can provide numbers.
And as for NOAA the numbers were used to prepare the reports. And as I'm sure you know that water doesn't reach a temp of 612 degrees F on the surface of a lake. Typical climate change fraud based on bad numbers.
And I think that your responce:
"I'm not going to go through your questions one by one"
is typical of those in your camp because as soon as you do your theories and story falls through the cracks.
For all your smarts and supposed degree in physics you are not able to understand that energy is not 'some spurious argument' - it is reality.
I wonder if you even understand what energy density is? How about giving us the answers? It appears that you can't. Or mostly likely won't because it ruins your lovely story.
I also suggest that you learn how to read and stop resorting to "putting words in my posts". Nowhere did I call wind turbines evil.
Please provide the facts in regard to the amount of resources needed in order to put up one wind turbine in terms of resources: land, steel, cement, rare earths, copper wire transmission lines, etc.
Provide the energy density of the wind turbine compared to natural gas, oil, or nuclear energy. Provide data on the cost to generate one mw of energy from a wind turbine. Also provide the additional cost for the additional base load generation needed to cover for when the wind turbine is not in operation.
Please provide numbers for how much additional energy is produced by the wind turbine after all energy costs are included and then compare that to natural gas, oil, coal, or nuclear energy generation.
Oh, and by the way, I have a solar hot water system on the roof with a 5 star natural gas boost as well as a solar PV system. Do you? I also have a 5 star NG central heater. Do you? I also grow most of my own vegetables and recycle water and have a composter. Do you?
So before you start flaming another poster with your greenie stuff and rants and putting words in other posters' mouths, I suggest that you take a long deep breath and do the math and answer the questions.
Your following is not needed:
"If you love oil so much why don't you just move to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico or Nigeria or somewhere else that has been devastated by oil spills and then see what you think? Compare that with acres of solar collectors in the desert (gee, how evil are they?) or deep geothermal energy wells (shock horror!) or those evil wind turbines you have mentioned! You're argument - if that's what we can call it - is totally devoid of any logic.
Just about any anti-green rhetoric you care to mention boils down to hypocrisy and, guess what else? The hip pocket. Please try and tell me you are not trying to maintain the status quo and protect your investments in polluting industries?!!"
