As a recently ex-teacher myself I have to really 100% disagree. We get paid more than enough. I was more than happy with my pay, not with my working conditions though. The amount of "extra" work, changing curriculum just because, dumbing down the pass marks, inclusive LGBTb/s, lack of any real discipline for students, pandering to parents etc.., are a few of the real issues. Paying teachers more wont make their job better.
FYI - students in QLD can now tell a teacher to get F#$d and WILL NOT GET SUPSENDED - we have to ask what the teacher did to make the student swear at them, did the student have breakfast, were your parents fighting this morning.., etc.. all the excuses under the sun to choose from, instead of saying, you were wrong to behave like that.
Love those working conditions - just pay me more and I will be happy with that language (not).
