I was trying to work out exactly how much that was in terms of mtpa.

It seems to be a deal 8.54mtpa over 21 years. That is TWO whole 4mtpa trains worth of gas, just to the Japanese. Now, not all of this is going to come from Curtis Island. But even so, that is huge amount of gas. Over $100 billion in sales by my reckoning.

Dow Jones reported that BG Group plc and Chubu Electric Power Co. have signed a binding deal under which BG Group will sell Chubu up to 122 cargoes, or about 8.54 million metric tons, of liquefied natural gas over 21 years, starting in 2014. Under the contract, LNG will be provided from BG's global portfolio, including gas processed through the proposed USD15 billion Queensland Curtis LNG project in Australia."
