Check out the dip of the N'Volcanics in the area of Degrussa.
Its about 80d which explains why the deposits appear near vertical.
VMS just seems the simplest explaination.
You have a multi km thick pile of mafics, that were deposited underwater in a MOR, back-arc or possible ocean hot spot environment in deep(ish) water, Degrussa has a cluster of deposits - very VMSish and Horseshoe Lights is nowhere near the Jenkins Fault and there is also the THX ore study.
Pity we dont have the isotope study - that would clinch it one way or the other.
