on the other side...just to be balanced...keep in mind QAN 'valuation' vs Global Airlines is already very 'low'....on consensus numbers ( subject to d'grade i guess)....QAN EV/EBITDA next year prices at about 2.8 times....global avg ~ 4.6 times. thats skewed by china airlines being way up there at 15 times is...but even excl China names....the us guys ( delat etc) are 5 times, Japan/Cathay 4.7-5 times....only AIr France...on that simple EV/ebitda multiple is as lows as QAN.
So....what IFF....there is a change in foreign ownership ( 49% cap at moment)...could that mean the BIG BIG global funds buy the cheaper QAN?
i have no idea....but thats the risk on shorts maybe?
