I find your faith in the banks touching occuring as it does when 27 of the world's largest banks had their credit ratings downgraded.
This fate it seems also awaits the local banks which face paying sky-high Greek-style rates to roll over the $350 billion in offshore loans they leant to Aussie mums and dads to pay for their McMansions which are now falling in value by the month (see latest data). The price of gold by contrast is moving relentlessly higher.
This is occuring as GOA's drilling program uncovers potentially PNG's next big thing after NEV27 intersected intenive mineralisation at the bottom of the hole.
So what would i rather own, an insolvent CBA, drowning under the weight of bad home loans or little GOA. Aint no contest.
