LOL! Not quite. It always amuses me that people would use leeches to cure an ailment. Any time I've been bitten by one, the resulting bite itches for up to 4 weeks after. I think it has something to do with the anti-coagulent they inject into you so that the blood flows freely.
Also, on a trivial note... leeches are the only creatures that you could actually turn inside out and they would survive.
