Not that I disagree with your sentiments, but it is not quite true that Jesus is not mentioned outside of the bible.
He is mentioned by a couple of historians:
"Josephus" - the jewish historian (writing around 80AD) mentions Jesus and the execution of his brother James; "Tacitus" - the Roman historian (writing around 110AD) mentions the time and place of Jesus execution "Pliny" - the Roman politician mentions the practices of some of Jesus' followers (although strictly speaking he does not mention Jesus himself).
