Reading some of the various posts here, one gets the distinct impression of listening to a bunch of bitchy kids sniping at each other, neither side listening nor wanting to accept the viewpoint of those on the opposite side of the argument.... Federal Parliament these days makes for a close comparison??.
It seems to me that, apart from the politicians who are constantly on the end of a kicking because they either lied, winked, ate at a Chinese restaurant or perhaps farted, we, as a mature population seem to have lost sight of what our country desperately needs if it is to avoid a dangerous spiral into deeper debt.
Love them or hate them, it needs to be accepted by all that the new Government has had the courage to put forward a plan designed to reverse the direction we are presently heading. It's certainly an unpopular Budget but then it has to be by necessity..... there is no easy fix!!! The medicine has to be bitter to save the patient.
The Opposition and minor parties are on the populist trail where they can say whatever they like today and ignore it tomorrow and it's fair to say that the majority of the media appear to have their own agendas which do not seem to include the long-term welfare of our country.
With an interest bill of 1000 Million dollars payable every month on the debt that the Labor/Green parties so kindly left us and the fact that they think that there is no problem, then it's no wonder that they offer no alternative plan to correct the absolute mess they created knowing full well that somebody else would be forced to pick up the pieces eventually. What's new ???
To compound this problem, they; in step with PUP plan to shoot the Budget down in the Senate... are they really in this for Australia or simply for themselves as they bask in the power they exert with their massive egos being stroked by a compliant and lazy media pack in Canberra.
Perhaps it's now time for the media to start asking some hard questions of these obstructionist people who, through their bloody- mindedness and self-interest threaten to undermine and prevent a recovery for our country.
What do they really stand for ???.... If it's not for the true advancement of Australia's best interests, then they are frauds and do not deserve to be representative of the Australian people.
Let's put our politics aside and start pulling together on this one... for the sake of our families, their families and those we care for..to turn away is not an option.
