"Love them or hate them, it needs to be accepted by all that the new Government has had the courage to put forward a plan designed to reverse the direction we are presently heading. It's certainly an unpopular Budget but then it has to be by necessity....."
You have missed a very important principle: Tony Abbott did not promise in the election campaign that he would bring down such a budget.
He had lied to win an election, and the people are now going to punish him for that.
If Tony wants a mandate to bring down such a budget, hold an election now to gain that mandate.
By the way, "God" does not take side. You may say the Liberals are good for Australia, but that is your personal opinion, not necessarily shared by a significant section of the community, and judging by the polls, an increasingly larger one.
