Now if you discussed not making sense but taking responsiblility to make life as fulfilling as possible through heightening one's spirit I'd love to discuss over a beer.
Religion can help in this but so can commonsense. Emotions of the low spirited ala greed, dishonesty, jealousy etc create anxiety , anxiety causes emotional pain.
An absence of pain is a prerequisite to a more fulfilling life.
