In almost every instance of somebody trusting Christ, what they are really doing is joining a religious tribe led by somebody with a strong opinion. I doubt God would put all His eggs in one basket, Christianity and I could never belong to a group that categorically dismisses the beliefs of all other religions and most of the sects within their own belief.

That's not trust, or belief, that is giving up.
