I believe you to be a sincere and honourable man, a person of dedication and conviction and there is always an element of truth in what you post, but its the conclusions that your religion draws and then presses upon you that lets you down.

Every good thing is of God, and every evil thing is from yourselves. You don't have to believe in satan to believe in Christ, to be a Christian. Satan is the lower nature, or base nature of man symbolised as an evil. God has never Created an evil spirit or an expression of evil. To believe otherwise is an aspect of this state of delusion we have been warned about.

So having removed satan, let's deal with this dragon you have posted about numerous times.

The dragon is not satan, it is the dark political and religious forces that destroyed Islam. This is as clear as any prophecy can get. It may also be somewhat generic having mentioned Jesus, in that it likely refers to the Catholic hierarchy as well that persecuted dissenters who wanted to follow Jesus more along the lines of His teachings.

The references to the dragon must be taken in its entirety.
Rev: 12-1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. The symbol of Persia and Zoroaster is the sun. The symbol of Islam is the moon. The 12 stars are the 12 Imams who promoted the true teachings of Muhammad.

Rev: 12-3/4 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth. The Umayyads who destroyed Islam had power over seven major dominions, the Roman dominion around Damascus; and the Persian, Arabian and Egyptian dominions, Tunis, Morocco and Algeria, Andalusia or Spain and Turks of Transoxania. There were 10 Umayyad names of rulers over time in these dominions which transformed Europe and pushed Christianity out of many of its strongholds and corrupted Islam.

The dragon was red because of the blood it shed via the many wars and killings of the innocent. The, third part of the stars of heaven was the family of Muhammad. A third of His family were murdered by these Umayyad rulers.

This is only a tiny little insight but surely you can see that this stuff fits amazing well without having to shoehorn prophecy into places it just doesn't fit.

Now of course this stuff will never be accepted because then Christians would have to accept that they have a common bond with Islam and priests, ministers, preachers and Governing Bodies and the like don't really know what they are talking about.

Just for interest. What convinces you to believe that Revelations describes events that were to take place in the far future of the writer and his audience. Whether 600 yrs or 2,000 yrs or even 3,000 yrs ?
Any reason to believe Revelations is not just a mostly symbolic description of intense visions relating to the author's inner experiences and partly framed and blended into the context of local worldly events, issues and beliefs at that time ?

As I think even you have pointed out, why would anyone write to his contemporaries of events that would not happen for centuries or thousands of years ?
Surely Revelations only became distant "prophecy" when Jesus did not return as expected at the time and has continued not to return !
