If you don't believe in a god, who made us.
It's exactly the same question.
Obviously it could either be:
- He "evolved" into that,
- He is a part of a species with technology that renders him indistinguishable from a "god", (possible leads into multiverse theories),
- He simply "is" (We cannot possible perceive what kind of being he is, let alone where he came from)
