We all have an opinion and debate is healthy. May I ask, do you believe this life is all we have and there is no hope apart from what we have now? Is there hope after death?
Linshan
I can't answer the question with any certianty. All I can say is that I don't think that there is any verifiable evidence that we survive our own deaths.
The queation of hope of a post death life - maybe there is no harm in hoping, I guess. But, unpleasant consequences are with us all the time. If death is indeed the final outcome of life, like it, or not, we have to face it.
My view is that whether or not there is a life after death, we should lead our lives as if there is nothing else other than this life.
If we do this, I think that we could respond in one ot two ways.
There is nothing to follow this life so that we should grab what we can, while we can and to hell with everbody else
or
We could try and make life as pleasant and enjoyable as possible for each other for the little time that we have life.
Then if we find that there is a life after death we can look back and say, we did our best for our fellows if we took the second option, or we could be consumed by guilt if we look the first option.
Irrespective of our take on a possible next life, we can only control what we do in this life. And it doesn't really matter becuase irresprctive of what we believe happens after death, there is really only one option on what we do in this life to be happy.
