Just the time for this discussion for me, after a tough afternoon, talking about health and welfare.....

My (adult) son needs to know "How do I learn to accept a higher power"
Apparently with a problem (drinking, depression, whatever....that sort of thing) you need to be able to see beyond 'your own being' to have the ability to move forward.

When he has no specific belief, where do you start with this?
It doesn't need to be 'God', and I'm same as you dex, no specific strong religious belief, but I do have a spiritual belief that there's something, which is enough for me to have a wider view.
I am also drawn to the John Edwards style people, and certainly believe in life after death.
