A good many biotechs can produce peptide drug candidates but hardly anyone has discovered 'functionally active delivery reagents'. Inserted within the Directors Report for the half year ended 31 December 2013, is the new strategic direction;
"These exciting data have important strategic implications regarding the company's decision to specialise in the field of intracellular drug delivery".
In the past Phylogica's partnerships and in-house programs covered a wide range of areas including vaccines, antimicrobials, BBB delivery and intractable extracellular targets. Clearly, we're going intracellular. There does appear to be a growing management confidence in the progress of the Endosomal Escape Trap technology and the results which have been achieved through the Janssen collaboration.
