    Hi all,

The trouble is with intuitive judgments is that sometimes we are not sure whether we can trust them. Others have already mentioned all the factors that are necessary to develop such a skill. Practice and feedback are also important in order to develop expertise.

Have just read a book on expert intuition and when we can trust it. Kahneman (the author) lists bridge players, physicians, nurses, athletes etc who learn complex skills and can become highly intuitive when they have prolonged practice in an environment that is sufficiently regular to be predictable. BUT....

Stock pickers operate in unpredictable environment and "intuition cannot be trusted in the absence of stable regularities in the environment".

So I guess, if we really don't know what could happen next we need to be a bit careful that our intuitions don't betray us. I suppose that's why there's a difference of opinion on this thread. But I still have a "feeling" about certain stocks.
