ozfarang - you are quite right my post should have said nose up tendency that's what happens when you just post something off the cuff.
Maybe you could answer a question that's always bugged me about the location of the AOA sensors. Why the hell are they on the outside of the aircraft? surely they would do the same job if they were located INSIDE the aircraft?
I remember one Acceptance test flight of a NZ Airbus which apparently stalled and crashed even with the 'A' team flying it due to frozen in place AOA sensors (though I think they made a grave error attempting slow speed recovery at far too low an altitude).
