That is true. European market is small but already VCR is taking a fair chunk. If memory serves me correctly they are increasing sales in EU by about 100% each year or more. All the info is in previous annual reports. So they are making some good penetration but it is obviously coming off a small base.
EU is not an easy market due to large number of countries and disparate insurance policies. I believe they recently said Germany was one of the best countries to work with and this is where they were concentrating efforts, although they do have a presence all over the EU.
I think the biggest challenge in EU is having market acceptance of LVAD as the choice therapy for this medical condition, like it is in US. Hopefully BRACE study and more exposure of these 3rd gen devices will rectify that.
