re: going to go over 3.60 Jetstar closer to global take-off
May 30, 2006
QANTAS has received interim clearance from the competition watchdog to launch international flights for its budget airline Jetstar.
Qantas announced earlier this year that Jetstar would move into international air space, with its first venture – Jetstar Asia – to begin operating as early as November.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) today said Qantas (qan.ASX:Quote,News) had been given conditional interim authorisation to enter a cooperation agreement with the holding company of Jetstar Asia and Valuair, Orangestar Investment Holdings.
“The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to the arrangements, on condition that Qantas and Orangestar do not reach agreement on allocation of existing capacity or withdrawal of services on overlapping routes and do not reach agreement not to enter routes to/from Australia,” the ACCC said.
