    You are right in that aluminium and steel has a different production process but both are able to be produced using renewables, gas and hydrogen. There is already a very small amount of steel made using hydrogen even though it is probably all testing etc. Gas, solar, wind are all key to stepping towards hydrogen and WA has world class conditions for all. Imagine all the jobs creating and maintaining all of the above. You were worried about the bauxite industry being killed off and job losses but in reality if you do all of the above you have more jobs here in Australia producing our own products as opposed to wasting margins shipping gas and profits to China.
