i have always wondered why our leaders have not connected the top end WA to QLD with a public rail system mines could using. Imagine WA iron and gas, Qld iron, gas and coal all going to to NT in the middle and producing steel. Between Rio, BHP, FMG with insentivs from Aus Gov via rail and gas pipelines a 4 way deal would be huge for Australia given the push to hydrogen NT is the perfect place for massive solar farms. You could almost argue. it would create too many jobs for Australia which then could be used to create strong bonds with our new trading partners via working visas etc
