Steel and Aluminium production are completely different;
1) Dig up Bauxite, convert it to Alumina in a refining process that basically dissolves the bauxite in caustic soda then filters and crystallises to make Alumina, Then smelt Alumina into Aluminium by melting it with huge electric currents.
2) Dig up iron ore, most iron ore is then converted to iron in blast furnaces, the resulting pig iron is then made into steel by injection of oxygen in BOS furnaces. A small amount is made from scrap and other processes.
No steel or Aluminium is made using hydrogen as the energy source. The technology doesn't exist.
