Can the black markets and illegal gambling be estimated - and hence included in GDP - to prove how wonderfully the world economies are growing. Human trafficking and slavery is the highest of all time. I guess that should be counted as part of a growing and robust and healthy world economy. My wife's favourite (simple soul that she is)... is the economic goodness and upswing following war and terrorism and natural disasters. So... (she does not like this) it is shown war and terrorism and natural disasters are GOOD for the economy. I guess we should be disappointed AIDS was controlled. Imagine the uptick that would have been provided by sufferers needing to pay for all those drugs and hospital respite care.
Maybe... just maybe... there is a better way to measure the 'health' of our economies.
