Gold has plenty of uses, and in fact every reader of this forum has some gold in their pocket right now.

Gold is used in Investments, Jewellery, Electronics, Medicines and so on. Gold has an inelastic supply which is fundamentally different to fiat currencies, calling gold a fiat currency is a grave miscalculation indeed.
