What you say may have an element of truth; however, sadly you are most definitely living in the past.

I very much doubt that the current US generation of ship builders could ever come close to repeating what was achieved during the 1940’s. Especially now as you say they have twice the population and also on average about twice the body weight of workers.

Also don’t forget the next time the mighty US war machine gets whipped by little guy’s in black pyjamas (minor power) won’t be the first time!!!

I thought the Poms where the experts on living on their past exploits but I guess I didn’t even think about the Kiwis penchant for doing so.

You can keep your head in the past if you wish as for me I will bet my future on physical Gold and no doubt in the future one of us will look even more foolish than the other.
