    The Homestake mine in the USA went up around 600% during the depression , labor and fuel became dirt cheap but gold tends to well in a recessionary environment which helps if that is your main revenue source and it comes from a high tenor mine (it was close to an ounce to the tonne and up to 20 M wide veins") that has a long life
