Producers are usually leveraged 3 x per gold price % movement.
An index which I have created contains 18 ASX listed small/mid/large cap gold producers. This index is up a combined 87.31% for the year.
That sounds like an excellent yearly performance however the USD gold price has risen a massive 43.19% over the same corresponding period.
By this rational gold producers should be up at least 130% for the year (3 x 43.19%).
