- US 10 year bonds have climbed from about 3.75% to nearly 4.21% - that is a major increase in rates. - US dollar index has increased from about 100.85 to 103.95 - about a 3% increase.
Yet: - POG has climbed by 3.34% in US dollars. - POS has risen by 7.86% in US dollars.
Based on historical relationships these changes would have resulted in a significant fall in POG and POS yet the opposite has happened. The old inverse relationships between US dollar index/10 year bond yields continue to be broken and have so since 2022. We live in a new paradigm.
Imagine what will happen to the POG and POS when (and if ) the US dollar and bond yield both fall!
