Overnight gold price looking very strong at around 4am (AEST)....
- Gold spot price USD$2,692oz. (+$32)
- 3 month futures USD$2,718oz. (+$32)
- AUD/USD. .637 (-1%)
So, AUD futures at $4,267oz. This is getting very close (within $50) to all time high back in late October (just before US election) when futures had hit USD$2,826 but Australian dollar was buying around 2c more USDs.
Australian dollar continues to look pressured, falling 1% against the US despite the announcements yesterday of China stimulus and rates held at yearly highs.
It's going to be very difficult to hold back the share prices of Aussie gold miners if this continues much longer.
