Spartan, that looks like approx 6.6%pa. Not terrible but considering there are no dividends involved it can't be considered market beating! Add inflation and it is returning approx. little better than cash.

And I'm positive on gold at the moment - it just needs to be an asset that is managed differently to mainstream assets classes, I think.
