Archimeidis, (mathematician and inventor c.287-212) comes from "arch" (chief, best, top) and meidis= smiling, so the head smiler is probably more correct; but archidas means "balls". There were a number of Spartan kings called Archidamus but "damao" means "to train, to keep in check."
