The closer the trading gets to the apex of a triangle, a pennant, etc the less explosive the move would be.
That is why I added beware of a false breakout to the upside, because it can signal a failure.
As far as the day-moving averages I do not think much of them.
Instead I use - to put it simpy - a trigonometric wave sort of analysis, which implies for the short term th market would stagnate in a tight range (albiet US$30) before the next big move.
Upside, is a break above $370/oz while on the downside about $340/oz.
