Rumours of the death of the gold thread are much exaggerated IMHO. Here below is a nice fact for Aussie focused gold miners that has not been commented upon (apologies if someone has bought it up and I missed it).
Since the USD strengthened in early August and the USPOG dropped below $1300, we have seen the AUD drop below 80c. One of the natural hedges for the Aussie miners is that the AUD price of gold goes up even as the USD increases and the USPOG goes down (for the most part).
