BONANZA GOLD MINERALISATION
INTERSECTED AT ROVER 1
Highlights
First two holes of confirmatory drilling phase successfully completed at Rover 1.
Bonanza grade gold zone intersected at Rover 1 in the second hole WGR1D002 with coincident copper, cobalt, bismuth and silver mineralisation and is similar to the nearby Tennant Creek style IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) deposits. Results include:
WGR1D002 65.75*m @ 11.0 g/t Au, 0.75% Cu, 0.09% Co,
0.15% Bi and 2.5g/t Ag from 492m
(65.75m @ 17.7g/t Au equivalent)
and includes two very high grade gold internal zones:
11.0m @ 18.3 g/t gold from 515m; and
15.75*m @ 29.4 g/t gold from 541m
(*hole finished in strong mineralisation
as a result of equipment failure)
Significant co-product mineralisation occurs throughout the overall system and higher grade results within the high grade gold zone in WGR1D002 include :
17m @ 1.93% Cu from 495m
2.0 m @ 2.13% Cu from 547m
23m @ 0.19% Co from 492m
44.75m @ 0.21% Bi from 513m
Additionally, significant high iron contents occur throughout the mineralised magnetite rich ironstones that form part of the overall IOCG system. Better results include:
Iron (Fe) 106m @ 44.2% Fe
41m @ 34.3% Fe
50m @ 35.5% Fe
Westgold firmly believes that the results from WGR1D002 are extremely significant and adds tremendously to the potential for Rover 1 to become a high-value poly-metallic resource, worthy of future mine development.
Step out drilling continues, with a further two holes having been completed with assays pending and another hole is currently underway.
